You’re Doing Better Than You Think And Everything Will Be OK

If you’re reading this with one eye on a pile of laundry, crumbs on the floor, or a child calling your name for the hundredth time today..... pause for a moment.
Take a breath.
This is your reminder: you are doing a great job.
Parenting is loud, messy, emotional, and relentless. It asks everything of you, your patience, your energy, your heart and often all at once. And yet, somehow, you keep going. Even on the days you feel like you’re just surviving.
That counts. More than you know.
The Myth of “Doing It Right”
Somewhere along the way, many parents picked up the belief that there is a “right” way to do this. Perfect routines. Calm responses. Balanced meals. Screen-free afternoons. A tidy home. A parent who never loses their cool.
That version of parenting doesn’t exist.
Real parenting looks like:
Trying again after a hard moment
Apologising when you get it wrong
Choosing connection over perfection
Feeding your child something and calling it a win
Loving deeply, even when you’re exhausted
And if you’re doing those things even imperfectly you are doing it right.
The Hard Days Don’t Mean You’re Failing
Some days feel heavy. You might feel touched out, overwhelmed, guilty, or like you’re falling short in every direction. Those feelings don’t mean you’re failing, they mean you’re human.
Children don’t need perfect parents. They need present, safe, and loving ones. They need someone who keeps showing up, even when it’s hard. And you do that every single day.
One Day, This Will Feel Lighter
There will come a time when the chaos eases. When the nights are quieter. When the questions slow down. When the mess is less constant. When you look back and realise how much strength it took to get through this season.
You won’t always feel this tired. You won’t always feel this stretched. You won’t always doubt yourself this much.
This phase will pass and you will have grown through it.
A Kind Reminder
If no one has told you today, let this be your reminder:
Your effort matters
Your love is enough
Your children feel safe with you
You are allowed to rest
You are allowed to lower the bar
You are allowed to be proud of yourself
You don’t need to do more.
You don’t need to be more.
You are already enough.
So be kind to yourself today. You’re doing the best you can with what you have and that is more than enough. Everything will be okay.
